Canadian General Electric
10 March 1893 which in turn acquired the competing bidder, the
P&AStRyCo. Franchise revoked by the City 1901.
Peterborough Radial Railway Company (1902 - 31 March 1927)
Incorporated 1902 (Ont.) Franchise approved 15 September 1903.
Acquired by the City of Peterborough 1 March
1916.
Operated in 1926 and 1927 by the
Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontario.

Cooney and Joplin (1927)
Competitor of PRRyCo became the only service in town when the
railway closed. Continued to operate after Border began.
Border Transit Limited (circa 14 April 1927 - 1978)
Incorporated 06 April 1926 as a subsidiary of bus builder
Gotfredson Corporation (CR&MW October 1927, p. 613).
(Dawes et al. 1972, CUTA 1976-77).
In early 1974 BT adopted the marketing image
Rapider Transit System (CC74).
