About the Research Project

The purpose of this research is to determine if the objectives intended to support the main message of Journey to Churchill at the APZ are achieved as part of the visitors experience. Specifically, this project will examine interpretive, emotional, and behavioural objectives by using mixed-methods research to gain an in depth understanding of the outcomes of these objectives.

Project Research Objectives

  • Examine to what extent the Journey to Churchill exhibit fulfills the interpretive, emotional, and behavioural objectives established during the design process.
  • Interpetive Objectives - how visitors learn about the Arctic, engage with the science and research, and are motivated to learn more.
  • Emotional Objectives - how visitors will experience positive feelings and connection toward the Arctic.
  • Behavioural Objectives - how visitors may play a role in conservation, articulating about the issues involved, and take personal responsibility.
