I posted the notes from this past tuesday below. In the last 2 minutes of class, I
tried one example out of the book, and I did it incorrectly. I corrected myself after

The deferred exam

The deferred exam paperwork, as discussed in class, is available in the math office.
To qualify to write the deferred exam, if you haven't done so yet, you will need to
go to the math office to get the paperwork, and then come see me with:
- a print out from Aurora showing you are registered in both my class and in
the one it is conflicting with, and
- a copy of the course outline showing you have a conflicting exam at that date
and time.
Bring me those papers and I will sign the math department form.
You MUST get this signature BEFORE the date of the MATH 1700 exam, and in order to have
permission to write the deferred exam. -Rob

WORKSHEETS
The following worksheets are entirely VOLUNTARY, and are meant to help with
learning the material of this course as well as material that you are assumed
to know in this class.
- Here's a nice "juicy" curve sketching question. Graph the function
 = 7 \ln \left| \frac{x^2-3x+2}{x^2-4}\right| "y = 7 \ln \left| \frac{x^2-3x+2}{x^2-4}\right|")
given that
 = \frac{21}{x^2+x-2} "f'(x) = \frac{21}{x^2+x-2}")
and
 = \frac{-21(2x+1)}{(x^2+x-2)^2} "f''(x) = \frac{-21(2x+1)}{(x^2+x-2)^2}") .
Use this to remind yourself of the techniques in MATH 1500.
TIP: Do not read the solution until you try it yourself.

quiz, you should confirm them with me. What I say matters most.

Lecture notes from Paul Dawkins, a professor at Lamar University (Beaumont, TX). His notes
are completely available online, and they are very well done - could almost be a textbook
in themself! Don't forget though: methods and techniques and requirements might be different,
so always do what your instructor teaches you ahead of what someone else tells you is ok.
