Janice and I spent the end of November in St. Louis where we were invited to give lunch time talks at the Center for New Institutional Social Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis . It was a great chance to see everyone at WashU (and of course the St. Louis Blues)!

Just got back from the Southern Economics Association Conference in San Antonio where I presented my paper "Investing in Institutions". San Antonio was great and it was good to see Noel Johnson again and to have had a chance to catch up with my favourite Austrian .
Spent the first weekend in November at the Defence and Security Economics Workshop held at Royal Military College. This was my second time there (this time presenting) and as always I really enjoyed the day!
Having seen the cars in the student parking lots during my years at Washington University in St. Louis, this ranking does not surprise me!
July 2009
I recently returned from a two and a half week trip to Asia where I presented at the International Symposium on Forecasting Conference in Hong Kong, and taught a course in development economics as part of the Vietnam-Netherlands MDE Program in Hanoi. Hong Kong also gave me a chance to catch up with Ming Lo and see my good pal Bruce .
I recently finished up a one year leave from the University of Manitoba with a research leave at the University of Western Ontario and a parental leave due to this guy .
