  MEET THE RESEARCHERS

Melanie Glenwright
Lab Director

Melanie’s research examines how children understand communication and how children understand the social behavior of other people. Some of her studies have looked at how children come to comprehend sarcasm (i.e., verbal irony) and the social experiences that influence children’s understanding of why people use sarcasm. She is also interested in how children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) understand the beliefs and intentions of other people.
