G. The uterus is composed of three layers. The outer or serosa layer is called the perimetrium. The muscle or muscularis layer is called the myometrium. The inner mucosa + submucosa comprise the endometrium. The perimetrium, myometrium and endometrium are shown in the close-up of the cut uterine horn.
