I am a Senior Instructor in the Department of Geological Sciences who has been teaching for over 25 years. My main teaching interest is structural geology and field geology. I have a particular interest in the Archean geology in Southwestern Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.
Teaching
Over the years I have taught a variety of courses in the Department. My current teaching load focusses on Structural Geology and Field Geology with a side of Planetary Geology. This fall I am teaching Structure Geology (GEOL2440), Structure and Metamorphism (GEOL3440) and Exploring the Planets (GEOL1420).
Awareness
The Department of Geological Sciences have a long history of geoscience awareness. Much of the activity is focused on supporting K-12 instruction of geoscience, but we participate in many other activities directed towards all levels of the general public.
Research
I am interested in student research related to the structure and mineralization in the Archean Lake of the Woods and Rice Lake greenstone belts. I have worked cooperatively with the Manitoba Geological Survey and the Kenora District Geologists Office of the Ontario Geological Survey.
