I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy and an Associate Director of the Centre for Professional and Applied Ethics at the University of Manitoba. I was recently a Research Post-Doctoral Fellow at Novel Tech Ethics, Dalhousie University. I completed my Ph.D. in Philosophy at Cornell University.
My main research interests lie at the intersection of political philosophy, normative ethics, and applied ethics. I am most interested in developing moral arguments that can be used to critique current international institutional structures and polices and to provide an account of the form these ought to take. My focus has been on the international institutions and policies that govern international finance and health.
I am also a Founder and Board Member of Academics Stand Against Poverty (or ASAP), a group of scholars and teachers who aim to mobilize the capacities and resources of academia toward the end of eradicating global poverty.
