In 2004, membership in the Star Wars Official Fan Club included an authentic one-of-a-kind animation cel from the 1985/86 cartoon series "Ewoks", produced by Lucasfilm and Nelvana. Each cel contains a single element of animation and includes two parts; a paper drawing and the painted mylar cel. These cels have been sitting in storage at Lucasfilm for almost 20 years...making them an actual piece of Star Wars history. Because of the manner of animation before computers, some cels are great; complete drawings of characters, while others may just be a swish of color or a dot! I was extremely lucky to have been sent a great cel of a "Lantern Bird". Since then, I have been trying to build a collection to preserve this nearly-extinct form of art.

Here are the original Ewok Cartoon production cels I have so far. My collection is broken down into characters and similar- type items. Click on the images below to go to each page where you can see 134 cels. As well, I have another 64 cels of eyes, mouths and miscellaneous items, as well as 21 paper drawings (no mylar). As I find the actual frame from the cartoon that used the cels, I will post images and short commentaries on them.

NEW! Four original layout drawings by Nelvana artist Brian Lemay have now been added to the collection!

I feel like a Nelvana animator!
I have 11 consecutive cels of a "dust cloud" and thought it might be cool
to see what happens if I animated them on the computer.
Here's what I got...my very own cartoon clip made from original Ewok cels!
