The Manitoba Regional Materials and Surface Characterization Facility includes state-of-the-art surface-characterization capabilities that complement the University of Manitoba’s current world-class imaging and bulk materials-characterization capabilities. The combined infrastructure establishes an unsurpassed materials-characterization capability that is enabling world-class research into the chemical, structural and morphological nature of surfaces and bulk materials, and will in turn impact technologically important areas ranging from composite materials to electronic devices. In addition, the facility provides a unique resource to regional government and industrial researchers. The instruments that make up the facility are located across campus in the faculties of Science and Engineering.
