Mostafa Fayek awarded a Tier 2
CRC Chair in Isotope and Environmental Geochemistry. Fayek, recruited from the
University of Tennessee, will join the University of Manitoba Department of Geological
Sciences in 2006, brining considerable expertise in the field of secondary ion
mass spectroscopy (SIMS). October

Dr. Sergei Rudenja arrives from the University of North Texas,
Department of Chemistry, to oversee the operation of the Kratos Axis Ultra Imaging
XPS instrument. Dr. Rudenja brings a broad background in surface science and UHV
techniques to the University.
