Freund is an emerging leader in the field of analytical chemistry, focusing on electrochemistry and polymer science, and he has recently been awarded a Tier 2 CRC in Conducting Polymers and Electronic Materials. His research in the area of surface science and polymer sensors has resulted in invited papers in special journal issues devoted to emerging leaders in analytical chemistry. He will use SPM and ESCA/Auger for characterization of new materials and interfaces that will spur the development of new directions in sensor design and molecular electronics. |
