What we do

The  Social Cognition Laboratory (SCL) includes projects that examine assessment, treatments, and unique issues in autism spectrum conditions (particularly Asperger Syndrome).  Research in our lab also includes comparative examinations in overlapping clinical groups, such as Nonverbal learning disabilities, Anxiety, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).  The SCL has also examined diagnostics and treatments for adults with autism spectrum conditions.  We have published our work in this area in peer-reviewed journals.  Additionally, we investigate Emotional Intelligence (EI) ‘profiles’ and have developed interventions incorporating elements of EI.  Dr. Montgomery’s research group’s publications in this area were some of the first to specifically examine EI in people on the autism spectrum.
