Primary Research Focus:
- Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying chronic inflammation.
- Developing small molecules, in particular cationic host defence (antimicrobial) peptides, for the control of chronic inflammatory diseases.
We have projects related to regulation of cytokines in chronic inflammation, inflammatory arthritis and airway inflammation (link to projects).
We are also involved in various collaborative projects focused on innate immunity and inflammatory diseases.
We use various Systems Biology approaches as we are located at The Manitoba Centre for Proteomics & Systems Biology.
