Uninstall BIRCH
Uninstall options
These methods delete the BIRCH directories, with the exception of
$BIRCH/local.
- Uninstall prior to updating
- Choose this if you will be updating from an earlier version of BIRCH.
- Permanent uninstall
- Choose this if you wish to permanently remove BIRCH from the system.
In a permanent uninstall, the $BIRCH/admin directory is deleted and
$BIRCH/admin.uninstall is renamed to
$BIRCH/admin. admin.uninstall contains scripts that delete BIRCH
settings from each
user's .cshrc, .profile, .bashrc etc. files the next time each user
logs in.
Binaries
Uninstall binaries and libraries -
In some cases, you can avoid downloading binaries and libraries before
doing an installation:
- You are downloading a new Development version of the BIRCH
framework, but the binaries haven't changed.
- Things went wrong with an initial installation, and you'd like
to install a fresh copy of the BIRCH framework.
