********************* * * * Lane Label Edit * * * ********************* After a gel-format file is chosen, a "lane-label-edit" popup appears, giving one an opportunity to edit the file. Any changes are for the exisitng primary image only; no changes are saved in the file. The popup lists the current lane ID labels along the left side of the popup. Next to each ID label is another small window which contains an inheritance code, assuming inheritance is active. The tiny red windows above and below the lane labels are buttons used to indicate an insertion of a new label. If no changes are to be made, click "OK". The popup disappears. If an ID is to be deleted, move the pointer over the ID and click MB1. The window which contained the ID goes blank. If an ID is to be added, click in the red min-window above or below an existing ID. Another popup appears into which one types the new ID; enter the ID in the text window; if an inheritance code is to be included, put a slash after the ID, then the inheritance code. When ready, hit "Add". The latest popup disappears, and the lane-label-edit popup is extended to include the new ID and, if applicable, the new inheritance code. It may be that after adding a label, the popup does not show all labels. The scrollbar to the right allows one to traverse the entire label list. The window manager may allow re-sizing of the popup, in which case all lane labels may be made visible. The Reset button restores the lane-label-edit popup to its original state showing the IDs in the specified file.
