This software was developed at the Biomedical Computer Laboratory of the Institute for Biomedical Computing at Washington University Schools of Medicine and of Engineering and Applied Science, St. Louis, Missouri. The lane-detection, band-detection, and spatial-normalization software was developed by Heather A. Drury with invaluable ideas and suggestions from David G. Politte. The graphical-user-interface software was developed by Heather A. Drury and Kenneth W. Clark with John M. Feser and Andrew Loth. General feedback and advice for Version 1.0 were kindly provided by the DNA-Imaging Working Group comprised of: Jerome R. Cox, Helen Donis-Keller, Russell E. Hermes, Will D. Gillette, Brigid K. McCauley, Maynard V. Olson, and Lewis J. Thomas, Jr. The additional features for Version 2.0 were suggested by Todd Steinbrueck and Cynthia A. Helms. Special thanks go to Todd Steinbrueck for his review of earlier editions of this User's Guide.

The foundations of DNA/GUI and its early dissemination were supported by the National Institutes of General Medical Sciences Grant GM42972, National Institutes of Health Grant RR01380 from the National Center for Research Resources, and James S. McDonnell Foundation Grant 8724 to the Center for Genetics in Medicine at Washington University. Current dissemination is supported by National Institutes of Health Grant RR01380 from the National Center for Research Resources and by Washington University.
