A.5 -- Creating a Comb-GeometryFile

There are rules for .comb files.

• Line 1 must begin: #COMB {anything else}
• Line 2: W #.#
  where #.# is a floating-point number (cm) specifying width of gel from left edge of leftmost lane to right edge of rightmost lane.
• Remaining lines may be of two formats:
  
  • (a) N n L #.# S #.#
  • (b) L #.# S #.#
    
  where
  
  • N is a tag to indicate the number of (lane-space) pairs which follow.
  • L is a tag to indicate that a lane-width follows.
  • S is a tag to indicate that space-wdth follows.
  • n stands for the number of (lane-space) pairs
  • #.# stands for the cm width.
• The filename must be suffixed with .comb .
