This function is generic; method functions can be written to handle specific classes of objects. Classes which already have methods for this function include: 'gls', 'lme', and 'lmList'. _U_s_a_g_e: intervals(object, level, ...) _A_r_g_u_m_e_n_t_s: object: a fitted model object from which parameter estimates can be extracted. level: an optional numeric value for the interval confidence level. Defaults to 0.95. ...: some methods for the generic may require additional arguments. _V_a_l_u_e: will depend on the method function used; see the appropriate documentation. _A_u_t_h_o_r(_s): Jose Pinheiro Jose.Pinheiro@pharma.novartis.com and Douglas Bates bates@stat.wisc.edu _R_e_f_e_r_e_n_c_e_s: Pinheiro, J.C., and Bates, D.M.
