Instituted a new program, "Summer Undergraduate Industrial Assistantships" wherein IIMS and industry would share the costs of undergraduate students for a period of eight weeks
during the summer.
Acted as liaison to initiate and/or complete a number of contracts and projects with various industries including Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., Forestry Canada, Advance Tent and Awning Ltd. and Manitoba HVDC Research Center,MTS etc.
Acted as liaison with the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, University of Minnesota of which the University of Manitoba is a Participating Institute.
Started a new course on Industrial Mathematics for senior undergraduate and graduate students.
Developed research teams for 'Carbon Dioxide Project' and Ice Melting Project
