How to setup LDAP in Outlook

  1. Click on Tools menu from the main menu
  2. Select E-mail Accounts... from the drop down list.

  3. Put a dot beside Add a new directory or address book
  4. Click Next.

  5. Put a dot beside Internet Directory Service (LDAP).
  6. Click the Next button.

  7. Type direct.cc.umanitoba.ca in the Server Name field and a small window will appear. You must close Outlook after these changes before new settings can be used.
  8. Click the More Settings... button.

  9. Click the OK button to acknowledge the message.
  10. Click the Search tab
  11. In the Search base field, enter:
    o=University of Manitoba,c=CA

  12. Click the OK button. Click the Next button.

After Outlook is restarted, you will have access to the UofM Staff and Student listing.

How to use LDAP

Open Outlook 2003

  1. Click the New button to create a new e-mail message.
  2. Click the To... button.

  3. Select direct.cc.umanitoba.ca as the search area.
  4. Click the Advanced button and select Find...
  5. Type in the name you are searching for
  6. Put a dot in the Contains option
  7. Click the OK button to begin the search
