Biography

Dr.
Usha Mittoo received her Ph.D. in Finance from the University of
British Columbia, M.B.A. from the University of Manitoba, and joined
the I.H. Asper School of Business in 1988. She holds the Bank of
Montreal Professorship in Finance at the I.H. Asper School of Business.

| Dr.
Mittoo is well known for her work in international capital markets
and foreign listings. She has published in many top finance journals
including Journal of Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance,
Financial Management, European Financial Management,
Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting
and practitioner-oriented journals such as Canadian Investment
Review. Her paper "Industrial Structure and Market Integration:
Evidence from the Australian, Canadian and U.S. Markets" (co-authored
with Rober Faff) received the Daeyang prize for the best paper published
in the Journal of Economic Integration, 2003. Her research
has been cited in several academic papers and practitioners' journals.
Her research has been funded with grants from several agencies including
Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Financial
Research Foundation of Canada, and Industry Canada. |

Dr.
Mittoo's teaching focuses on international finance, investments
and corporate finance areas. She has developed and taught a variety
of finance courses at the Ph.D., MBA, and undergraduate levels as
well as in the executive development programs. She has received
several awards and honors for her teaching, research and service
activities. These include the Asper School of Business Associates
Achievement Award for excellence in research, CMA merit award for
excellence in teaching and research (2003, 1999), the Associates
Achievement for excellence in research, and the CGA merit award
for service. She has served on the board of many organizations and
was the Academic chair of the Northern Finance Association meetings
held in Winnipeg in September 1997. From February 1996 to March
1998, she served as Associate Dean and was responsible for the Asper
School's AACSB accreditation process.
