Dr. Wang is a physicist in the field of experimental nuclear and particle physics. Before doing research in physics, he was an electrical and electronics engineer. Working at the frontier of precision tests of fundamental symmetries and the Standard Model, he specializes in experiment design, detector development, simulation, electronics, DAQ and data analysis. He has developed broad technical expertise and accumulated rich experience from working for industries as well as in many national laboratories and accelerator facilities, such as TJNAF, MIT-Bates, TRIUMF and Mainz Microtron, etc.
While conducting research work toward further understanding the properties of fundamental particles and interactions, Dr. Wang also serves as the department chief technical staff, managing the cryogenic helium liquefaction facility and advanced laboratories, directing the operation of mechanical shop and students shop, as well as providing technical supports for all the research labs in the department.
