Welcome. This site is meant to serve as a gateway to a number of on-line resources. Many of these resources represent my attempt to come to grips with some of the most important questions I ask in my teaching and research. What is so significant about books? What is important about what is in them? How are they made? What form do they take? What do they look like? Why? Who reads them? How does our reading of books shape how we experience the world? How has it shaped people's experience in different times or cultures? What is the relationship between how we perceive ourselves and how we conceive of books?

I hope that you are visiting this site because you are also interested in confronting such questions. I invite you to explore the courses or digital projects associated with my work at the University of Manitoba.
