Interests
Dr. Woodbury
has served as an adviser to various governments,
utilities, engineering companies and crown
corporations such as AECL. He has been a specialist
consultant to the Saskatchewan Government on potash and
uranium tailings contamination and to the Center for
Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analysis in San Antonio, Texas,
for work at the Yucca Mountain nuclear repository. The
focus of Dr. Woodbury's professional efforts is the role
of groundwater in geotechnical, mining, environmental and
water supply issues, particularly in a regulatory
framework. These efforts involve investigations,
assessment of remediation methods for contaminated waters
and soils, water supply quality and quantity, engineering
design, and the development and application of regulatory
guidelines.

Dr. Woodbury provided pro-bona service to various
groups, particularly in regards to environmental hearings
of a proposed waste stabilization pond at Oak Point, MB.
He has also reviewed a proposed particle strand-board
plant siting at Hawk Lake, Ontario and helped
various homeowners with advice related to groundwater. He
has been interviewed on Shaw TV, CBC radio and provided
information to reporters from the Winnipeg Free Press.
