    Thesis topic: Life history Trade-offs in the carnivorous perennial, Pinguicula vulgaris.
Ph.D. 2000 University of Toronto Botany
    Thesis topic: Evolution of Floral Display in animal-pollinated plants.
After completing my Ph.D., I began research on Polemonium as a post-doctoral fellow. I spent time at the University of Washington and Michigan State University. I joined the University of Manitoba in 2002.

Why I went to University:

  • one summer cleaning rooms in Banff, Alberta

Why I study Plants:

  • they have very creative sex lives
  • they are good looking and well behaved
  • they never leave the study site, although they may be burned, flooded or trampled

What I would do with spare time:

  • dance more with my toddler
  • swim and ski
  • walk on (o.k., by) water
