Only one species is found in this famil Mollugo verticillata. This is a low annual with repeatedly forking, commonly prostrate and mat forming stems. Leaves are narowly to broadly oblanceolate tapering to an obscure petiole. Leaves in whorls of up to 8 at the nodes. Flowers are perfect with slender-pedicelles, 2-5 from each node. No corolla, 5 white inside sepals. Usually 3 stamens. Superior ovary and a many seeded capsule fruit.
Reference to this species is from near eastern Manitoba boundary in Ontario (Ingolf).
