Cistaceae - rockrose family

Herbs or shrubs with flowers borne singly or in a branche dcluster. Flowers are radially symmetrical; calyx usually with 3 large sepals and 2 smaller ones or absent. Usually 5 separate petals. Numerous stamens. Superior ovary. The leaves are simple. The fruit is a leathery or woody capsule with 3 or more chambers.
