Juncaginaceae - Arrow-grass family

These are perennial herbs growning in marshes (Triglochin maritma being highly tolerant of saline environments). The leaves are linear and basal. The flowers small, 3-merous, in racemes or spikes; fruit is a folicle. The genera found in Triglochin are poisonous to catle and sheep, but geese have been observed to eat the leaves.
