Only one species is found in Manitoba (Mentzelia decapetala, Evenignstar). These are stout, erect, biennial pants with rough pale gray stems. Leaves are alternate and ranging from lanceolate to oblanceolate. The blades of the leaves are sharply and coarsely toothed and covered with tiny white stiff bristles.
