Umbelliferae or Apiaceae - Parsley family

This is a large family of hollow-stemed herbs with alternate divided leaves. The bases of the leaf stalks are usually enlarged and sheathing the stem. The flowers are small and in umbels (simple or compound).

This family contains some of the most poisonous plants found in Manitoba.
