During the summer of 2008, the NCSP worked in two Traditional Authorities in the xx mo the Lower Thukela Basin. We use the shorthand ‘Inkandla’ to refer to this area. Considerable work has been done in this region, including fieldwork by Dr. Fowler in 1998 and 2002. Our study focused on the technical aspects of ceramic production and how potters have altered production practices as an increasing number of potters in this area make vessels for the non-local art market.
