Areas: 1) Usability in bioinformatics software 2) Mining of biological data 3) Biases in biological databases. Dr. Fristensky has also developed the BIRCH bioinformatics system, which provides a complete set of bioinformatics tools that scale from a single workstation to an institution-wide system. Dr. Fristensky has also developed the bioLegato graphic interface, which gives the biologist an intuitive view of the data, and easy access to hundreds of programs available in BIRCH. |
