UMARS General Meeting
June 21, 1995
Present: Paula Ehn, Andy Minkevich, Eric Krievans, Craig Thomasson, Gord Snarr, Remi Godin, Arne Grimstrup, Bruce Haugh, Michael Markmann, Patrick Wong, Tom Tessier, Victor Lam, Darwin O'Connor, Dean and Giselle Riegel.
Meeting called to order at 6:22PM in room 526-528 University Center.
1. EXECUTIVE ADDRESSES TO THE CLUB:
- 1. President's address given by Craig Thomasson.
- None.
- 2. Vice-President's address given by Paula Ehn.
- None.
- 3. Secretary/Treasurer's report given by Andy Minkevich.
- Repeater fundraising update: To date, raised $482.00, still short by $168.00
- 4. Technical Manager's report given by Eric Krievans.
- None.
2. PERMENANT COMMITTEE REPORTS:
- I) Campus crime watch by Tom Tessier.
- Tom thanks everyone for all their logged in hours.
3. SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
- I) Akjuit Aerospace update by Tom Tessier.
- Tenative launch date for the balloon is July 15, 1995. Tom is meeting with John Angell to ask Environment Canada to help us launch the balloon.
3. OLD BUSINESS:
- I) SIGPAC and Student Group matters by Paula Ehn.
- Paula and Andy reapplied for service status and made a formal requisition to acquire room 514B. In addition UMARS may be in line for $400 in block funding and an additional $400 from a GSA grant.
- II) Field Day 1995 by Paula Ehn.
- Presentation by Paula following this general meeting.
- III) Repeater update by Paula Ehn.
- The June 20 severe weather bent our newly erected repeater antenna and it is a safety hazard. A discussion developed on how to best remedy our problem. It was decided that, temporarily, the antenna should be bolted directly to the tower. These repairs will be attempted during field day, Sat. June 24, 1995.
- IV) New purchases
- None.

- None.
5. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Andy wished Paula Ehn a happy birthday. Paula was embarassed.
