J-POLE ANTENNA

VE4WK has designed an improved version of the classical j-pole antenna that has a very flat bandwidth for the 2-m band. This design has been implemented around the world.

J-POLE WORKSHOP

Once a year, he gives a workshop on the j-pole construction. Around 20 people learn about the principles of the antenna, and build the antenna during the workshop.

WORKSHOP LOCATION AND DATE

The course is offered in one of the rooms in the Engineering and Information Technology Complex, EITC, University of Manitoba, Fort Gary Campus. The workshop date is announced through different channels.

WORKSHOP DURATION

The workshops takes a morning, from 9:30 to 12:00 AM.

WORKSHOP INSTRUCTOR

Dr. W. Kinsner, VE4WK, has been presenting the workshop to UMARS for the last 15 years or so. There is no exam in the event.

WORKSHOP MATERIALS

The instructor will use his course material. The antenna description should be downloaded prior to the workshop.

WORKSHOP FEE

The fee has been around $15 to cover the cost of thee materials involved.

WORKSHOP REGISTRATION

The registration and payment of the fee is done in person before the first session.
