SCREENING FOR FUNGAL-INDUCED GENES

Clones that hybridize more strongly with cDNA probe from L. maculans-inoculated leaves, than with cDNA from uninoculated leaves, represent fungal-induced transcripts.

Choose for further study:

fungal-induced genes - likely to be involved in defense responses
non-induced genes - needed for comparison with induced genes
weakly-expressed genes - likely to be previously "unknown" genes
