Lab: Plant Regeneration

Create a folder called PlantRegenLab to contain all files related to this lab eg. you might call it "PlantRegenLab". Save a copy of the Lab Report Template file to this folder. This file will be used to record weekly observations, as described below.

For each week, choose a few images that best illustrate the changes in hormone-treated explants vs. controls. Add these to your lab report, with short descriptions of the changes seen week to week, and milestones (eg. appearance of first true leaf, appearance or first visible roots).

Hints:

Choose images that clearly show the features of plant tissue, such as color, texture, or structure. Avoid images that are blurry or obscured by condensation.
Make it easy to compare treatments over time. One way is to embed images in a table, as shown in the example reports

Edit your images using any drawing program you wish eg. LibreOffice Draw, MS-Office Powerpoint.
Feel free to zoom or crop the image to make it fit easily in your report
Indicate significant features using circles, boxes, brackets, arrows, or whatever makes it clear which cell you are referring to.
Save your final image in PNG or JPG format. Then, insert your image into the report under the appropriate subheading.
It is NOT acceptable to upload your images as separate files. They must be inserted into the report.

Make sure your report includes your name, student number and UM email address.

Save your assignment report as a PDF file, and upload it to the PLNT2530 UMLearn dropbox site in the PlantRegen folder. Files in word processing formats (.doc, .docx, .rtf, .odt) are NOT acceptable.
