A. When you dissect the female reproductive tract, you must place the tract in front of you as shown in the image below. The following parts have been labelled for you:

    • vagina
    • cervix (location determined by palpating the tract)
    • uterine body
    • uterine horns
    • bifurcation
    • broad ligament (labelled in the next diagram)
    • ovaries

Note that the vulva, posterior vagina and bladder are usually not present on the tracts we receive.                                                                 

In the next lab you may be asked to identify these parts and their functions.
