Learning Objectives:

1. Describe the main steps of photosynthesis and where they take place in the cell.
2. Separate the main pigments in a green plant. Describe the mechanics of paper chromatography.
3. Show the uptake of carbon dioxide by plants.
4. Determine the absorption spectrum of a leaf pigment extraction.
5. Explain the release of photons from a leaf pigment.
6. Determine the photosynthetic rate of a plant sample.
7. Measure oxygen production by a plant.
8. Utilize a chemical test to show alcohol production by yeast.
