3.8 Save Results

The final step is to save the results of the image analysis. Results are saved in the import file k102.avg.w.imp. An example may be found in Appendix A.2. The following items are saved:

• any image information entered to the Image Information Region,

• the coordinates of the crop box corners,

• the names of the gel-format file and template-definition file,

• the lane labels (from the gel-format file),

• the template sizes and mobilities (from the template-definition file),

• the left and right margins of each lane,

• the fragment sizes and mobilities of each band,

• Pointer to Operations Submenu, click [Save Results]. The current state of analysis for the Primary Image is now saved.

NOTE: For this tutorial, you have just "Saved Results" after completely analyzing the image. In practice, you may "Save Results" at any time; in fact you are encouraged to do so, especially after detecting the standard bands and prior to normalization. Whenever you "Save Results", everything you have done to that point is saved in the import file. You could, therefore, save results at any time, leave, and finish analyzing the image at a later time.
