Dr. Bing-Chen Wang
Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering

After receiving his Ph.D. degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Dr. Bing-Chen Wang was awarded an NSERC Visiting Fellowship to conduct postdoctoral research at Defence Research & Development Canada, in Suffield, Alberta. After completing his three-year postdoctoral program, he was appointed as a Defence Scientist with National Defence one year before he joined the University of Manitoba. Dr. Wang’s research interests include: large-eddy simulation (LES), direct numerical simultion (DNS), Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) method, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), environmental flow and pollutant dispersion, turbulence modelling, convective heat and mass transfer, and high-performance parallel scientific computing.

A to the Future Graduate Students

The thermal-fluids group at the University of Manitoba offers high standard postgraduate degree programs at M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels. Candidates with the following backgrounds are encouraged to submit their applications: computational fluid dynamics (CFD), parallel computing, turbulence phenomena, convective heat transfer, applied mathematics and mechanics, and physics. For admission, all candidates will need to follow the policy of the Faculty of Graduate Studies. A complete resume highlighting the education and research background of the candidate is preferred... read more...
