OUR RESEARCH FOCUS

Through our research, we aim to deepen our understanding of genome/chromosome biology and contribute to the next generation of cancer therapies.

Our team uses state-of-the-art genetic tools like CRISPR/Cas9 and advanced microscopy techniques to explore how human cells maintain genome and chromosome stability. By pinpointing the essential genes, proteins, and pathways that protect our genetic material, we are building a detailed "molecular parts-list" that sheds light on how cancer begins and progresses. These discoveries will help us identify new therapeutic strategies and develop innovative treatment strategies, like synthetic lethal approaches, to improve the lives and outcomes of those living with cancer.
