TERRITORIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We acknowledge that we are gathered on ancestral lands, on Treaty One Territory and that our water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.

The University of Manitoba campuses and CancerCare Manitoba are located on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anisininewuk, Dakota Oyate, and Dene and on the National homeland of the Red River Metis. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories and acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past. We dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.

Acknowledging these truths and the errors of the past are critical for reconciliation, to develop meaningful relationships, and to foster respectful partnerships with Indigenous communities.

We are committed to partnering with Indigenous peoples to expand knowledge related to the rights and responsibilities for the people in this land.
