Virtual
Manufacturing Centre
(VMC) was
established in 2002 by the support of
Canadian Foundation for Innovation
(CFI), Manitoba Provincial Government,
and Faculty of Engineering at
University of Manitoba. It has the
capability to:
Explore
new approaches to support the VR-based
product design and manufacturing, such
as to investigate the standardization
and simplification of VR systems,
develop intelligent VR interface and
strategy for sharing of VR facilities;
Conduct VR-based industrial
applications, such as product design, 3D
printing and prototyping, product assembly
and sustainable evaluation to improve the
quality of products, shorten time to
market, and reduce expense in the product
development;
Extend VR and simulation research
in other areas such as health care
improvement and tissue engineering.
Develop research
collaborations and partnerships.
