Aim of Project

Develop methods to control the power flow in VSC-HVDC Grids, evaluate the performance for various DC network layouts, explore the concept of DC transformers, and analyze interactions with AC systems.

Description of Project

Multiterminal VSC-HVDC is a suitable solution for the transmission of large amounts of power between more than two locations over long distances. Voltage Sourced Converters connected in parallel are favorable for the implementation of DC Grids. The systems studied include DC networks, converters stations, and AC networks. Control strategies for the load flow have been developed for different scenarios.
