Summer Students
Undergraduate students interested in summer research projects in any of our active areas of research are encouraged to e-mail or come speak with Dr. Herbert directly. The deadline for summer fellowship applications (NSERC USRAs and Faculty of Science Awards) is typically in late January but it never hurts to have a conversation earlier!

Graduate Student Openings
We are always looking for graduate and undergraduate students interested in organometallic synthesis and materials chemistry and motivated by an interest in fundamentally interesting science and sustainability. Please contact Dr. Herbert directly for further information about projects and availability.

While we currently do not have any openings to hire postdoctoral scholars, those interested in pursuing external funding are encouraged to get in touch. Postdoctoral applicants with backgrounds in organometallic, main-group and/or organic synthesis, X-ray crystallography or electrochemistry are especially encouraged to apply.

The student call for applications for Globalink Research Internships is open!
To access the list of eligible projects in the Herbert Group, please visit the online database at https://globalink.mitacs.ca/ and search using keywords "David Herbert". The application portal will open and accept applications each summer (August) with a deadline to apply in September.
The Globalink Research Internship offers a 12-week research project in the Herbert Group at the University of Manitoba for high-achieving senior undergraduates from Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Tunisia. Starting May 2020, approved students travel to Canada, where they work with a faculty supervisor and other researchers at their host universities and receive:
