Last Updated May 16, 2011We are part of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Manitoba in the capital city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Our research program involves the use of high resolution spectroscopic techniques in conjunction with ab initio calculations to determine the properties of reactive intermediates. These molecules have rather short lifetimes, yet they remain of great importance as they drive numerous chemical processes such as the combustion of fuels, polymerization and thin film deposition. Our studies require the use of numerous high resolution spectrometers in the microwave and infrared regions, some of which only a handful can be found worldwide!Contact Information:Jennifer van Wijngaarden Department of ChemistryRoom 118 Parker Building (Laboratory) Room 388 Parker Building (Office) University of Manitoba144 Dysart RoadWinnipeg, Manitoba, CanadaR3T 2N2vanwijng@cc.umanitoba.caPhone - 204.474.8379Fax - 204.474.7608May 11, 2011: Dr. van Wijngaarden received a grant from the University Research Grants Program in support of our new waveguide microwave spectrometer project!May 6, 2011: Felix Chen has successfully completed his Ph.
