Research also found October 1938 correspondence with the City regarding a private bus service
to operate on Fort Road between 118th Avenue and a point two blocks past the Transit Hotel on 66th Street (to 66th St./130th Ave. or Fort Rd./64th St.?). The
C. Kruger Bus Line received permission from the Edmonton Radial Railway Superintendant to operate one bus, a 1933 Chevrolet with a 26 passenger body. It is unclear if this service was operated, or for how long. (Martin Parsons 2012).

The
Cornwallis Valley Railway (inc. 1887 NS), a subsidiary of the
Dominion Atlantic Railway, operated twice daily mixed train service
between Kentville and Kingsport via Centreville, Sheffield Mills, and Canning
(21.9 km/13.6 mi., 40-60 min.). The morning train arrived in Kentville
at 8:30AM and the afternoon train departed at 4PM (1949 schedule), providing daily commuter transportation primarily to student attending school in Kentville.
Supplementary bus service was added 01 May 1947 but discontinued in 1949
(Coleman 2013).

In 1983 Ottawa, Ontario, opened the first Transitway segment.
Buses operate on private roadways between the city centre and outlying districts, serving intervening stations.
A busway to York University opened at Toronto, Ontario in late 2009.
The first leg of the rt Transitway opened in Winnipeg, Manitoba 08 April 2012.
Busways are expected to open in 2013 in Gatineau and 2014 in Mississauga.
Application of private right-of-way using motor buses. The term “BRT” (Bus Rapid Transit) encompasses a wide range of technologies from conventional on-street/mixed traffic express bus service, to enhanced bus stops, bus-only lanes, signal pre-emptions, or
private road infrastructure with elaborate stations. In the context of the All-time List of Canadian Transit Systems
“motor bus busway” is intended to designate private right-of-way rapid bus service which includes stations.
