MCAL is a chemical analysis facility accessible by students, researchers and local industry with the goal of supporting the Manitoba economy through the generation of highly qualified personnel as well as contributing to the provinces research capacity.

This facility is supported by user fees to defray operating expenses and for the upkeep and repair of the equipment.

In addition to providing a state-of-the-art educational environment to undergraduate students at the University of Manitoba, the facility trains graduate students and university researchers in the use of the equipment.
